Razor is a youthful firedog with an incredible storage of energy. His fur pattern consists of gray colorations with black stripes and headfur. The firedog has a small mohawk with his black headfur, going between his ears and to the nape of his neck. Also of note is the triangle-shaped black fur spot above his nose on his snout. There are three slightly-crescent-shaped stripes on his back as well as both arms and legs. His hands have a tattoo in a flame pattern, created with fire ink. Using his inner fire, he can set these tattoos ablaze with a warm light illuminating the area around himself. The palms of his hands have a soft, spongey pink pad covering the entire palm area. He has a long, very bushy tail reaching just past his paws when fully extended (which it rarely is). On the bottoms of his paws, you'll find the typical pads that other canines have, but with the addition of a pad covering his heel, all of which are pink. Razor is a bit of a runt, standing at only 5'2" and weighing roughly 120lbs with a slightly scrawny build.
For clothing and other accessories, Razor wears a sleeveless, short robe, ending in a fur cuffing at the bottom. This robe is a dark crimson color with black stripes in a chaotic, fiery pattern. He has a sash around his waist, serving as a belt. Around his neck, the firedog wears a red scarf that drapes over his shoulder, flowing down his back to roughly his knees, with a fiery pattern at the bottom leading up to the red. Also around his neck is a necklace holding a shard of a firestone.
His wrists have hardened leather bracers with metal plating inside and flaps that can be buttoned back on his forearm to uncover his tattoos, or fastened around his hands to cover them. Beneath the robe is a simple black shirt and shorts, with white straps around his stomach area. His shins also have hardened leather guards with bandages beneath to offer protection to his fur from the leather. These guards are adorned with a fiery orange gemstone.
Aside from his inner fire and other abilities, his weapon of choice is a chain sword comprised of multiple blade pieces arranged in a tooth-like manner. This "Clawblade" as he calls it is a sword designed to dig into flesh and tear it away as the blade is pulled free. It can be extended easily to allow him to reach targets further away.
Razor was one of many experiments Team Rocket performed in their attempts to clone Mew. He remembers little prior to Mewtwo breaking free and destroying the lab. Rocket scientists had included a shred of human DNA in the cloning process after prior attempts entirely failed, which resulted in Razor's ability to shift from feral to anthro and back. Several other experiments had been performed in this manner using the various evolution stones as a catalyst to trigger the creation of this new life. Most of the fire stone used for the growlithe's creation dissolved away over time, but Razor was not quite "finished" when the facility was destroyed. He wears the remaining shard of the fire stone as a necklace and is able to use this to temporarily evolve into an arcanine.
After escaping, he was found by Blaine and received some training and given an idea of the world before his curious nature led him to adventure forth, even seeking to become a Trainer himself.
